Counselor - For Healing and Positive Growth
Carrie M. Wrigley, LCSW, has been a counselor for over 30 years, specializing in the treatment of depression, anxiety, and relationship problems. She also helps individuals and families struggling with issues related to abuse, grief, transition, addiction, and betrayal trauma.
Carrie also provides life coaching, helping individuals with positive growth goals including health and nutrition improvement, personality assessment, time management, and positive life planning. She especially loves helping people navigate successfully through life transitions - including retirement, pre-marital preparation, and postpartum adjustment.
-- Carrie's counseling style centers on providing clients with healing, empowering information they can use to help themselves and their families heal, from the inside out. Of course it is important to also identify problems, provide caring support for current challenges, and provide a listening ear. But Carrie works to help her clients move beyond problems - crafting powerful, sustainable solutions that change lives, and promote deep-down, genuine healing - not just symptom management or temporary coping strategies. Carrie is passionate about helping her clients transform their lives and relationships - moving from pain to peace, from conflict to harmony, and from despair to heartfelt joy and satisfaction.
Carrie currently provides these services in her private practice, Morning Light Counseling, in Sandy, Utah. She is also available for sessions by phone or Zoom.

HEALING RESOURCES AVAILABLE:
To expedite healing and growth, Carrie equips her clients with powerful information they can use daily to achieve their treatment goals. For years, Carrie has recommended self-help books and other resources to her clients, so they can grow and learn between sessions, as active contributors to their own healing and development process. She has now gathered these many treasures into online resources, accessible to the general public as well as her clients. These resources include:
> New book, Your Happiness Toolkit: 16 Strategies for Overcoming Depression, and Building a Joyful, Fulfilling Life. Published August 24, 2019, Carrie's book pulls together "the best of the best" - strategies and concepts she has used throughout her counseling career to assist thousands of clients over 30+ years, integrated into one easy-to-read reference manual. The book is available on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and elsewhere. Read more about Carrie's new book here.
> Online Resource Library, CounselingLibrary.org. Packed with valuable resources to benefit her clients and others, this website includes a wide variety of articles, handouts, videos, and even a full topically-organized Counseling LIbrary Bookstore, making it easy to locate and order the books Carrie has recommended for years to her counseling and coaching clients.
TRAINING AND CREDENTIALS
Carrie received her training at the University of Utah, in the Graduate School of Social Work. There, as a social worker, she was trained to consider the "person-in-environment" fit of an individual, considerating the impact of their background and social environment, rather than just their symptoms, biochemistry, or personal characteristics. She is credentialed as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the State of Utah, and has retained her LCSW for over 30 years.
Carrie has described her method of counseling and teaching as "Integrative Wellness Training" - drawing concepts and techniques from the best-researched, most respected treatment protocols, and drawing them all together in an integrated toolkit, customizable to each indiividual client or family. This approach is reflected in her book and Counseling Library website, as well as in the various trainings and other events she carries out, to extend her message of hope, healing, and joy from the one to the many.
