About Carrie Wrigley

about carrie wrigleyHello, and welcome to my site!

I'm Carrie, and I'm delighted that you're here.  I'm a counselor, singer/songwriter, actress, author, and speaker. Also, I'm the mom of 5 great kids, and have been married for over 30 years to the most patient and supportive man in the world, Steve Wrigley.

During those same 30+ years,  I've counseled hundreds of clients, spoken and sung to thousands of people, written and performed over 600 songs, played a variety of roles on stage and screen, and written my first book. It's been an exciting and fulfilling adventure!

My greatest joy is to pass on what I've learned and created to benefit others.   I never get tired of the look on a client's face, when they realize that they truly can heal from what ails them.  I love the energy of a room electric with new vision, as I pass on things I have learned.   I love the feeling of knowing that a song that I wrote, or a role I performed, touched someone to the heart, and gave them strength for the journey ahead.

Over the years, I have become an expert on depression recovery and prevention, as well as dealing with grief, anxiety, abuse, addiction, marriage and family conflict, and weathering adversity.   My expertise comes not just from a professional background -- but also from a life experience that (probably like yours) has included a certain amount of pain and disruption.   I don't have just a professional acquaintance with these areas.  In many cases, I have lived through many of these same afflictions personally -- and have learned, happily, to come out on the other side.  Those tough life lessons weren't easy, but they were valuable and transformative.   As I'm sure yours are as well.  (Or can be.)

I have developed these websites over the past 10 years, to share what I have learned and created.   I truly believe the wise old song that declares, "Because I have been given much, I too must give."   I have developed a network of powerful resources that are now available to  help you.  Maybe you will come looking for the gentle healing of uplifting music.  Maybe you will desire to be taught practical skills, to help you with a problem in your business, your family, or your life.   Maybe you will be looking for just the right book, article, handout, or resource to help yourself, a client,  or someone you love.  Perhaps you will be searching for a song to perform at your next event, or to highlight the chosen theme of your next conference, assembly, or meeting.  You will find a rich supply of resources to help with these areas and many more, on the pages you'll be encountering on this site, and the various afilliate sites that it links to.

I was trained at the University of Utah, and have a BFA in Theatre and an MSW in Social Work.  I am an LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) in private practice, and have spoken to many groups over the years, including 20 consecutive years at BYU Education Week.  But perhaps my most important credential is -- I am here now, to provide resources and assistance to you.

Enjoy your time here!   And feel free to contact me if you have any questions, feedback, or requests.

Sincerely,  Carrie Maxwell Wrigley, LCSW
